My foreign film festival continues.
Tonight I watched a Korean film called Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter ... and Spring.
I'm still mulling it over in my mind, so I guess I really don't have much to say about it - except that I think it's a really powerful film. I'm admittedly feeling a little hormonal, and I totally cried my way through the Winter part. :(
The synopses I've read make it sound really simple - there's a monk on an island in a lake who raises a little boy. The seasons mirror the phases of life. No big rocket science there. It's ...
Oh, just rent it and watch it, if you think of it. :P
Here's the Amazon link. I think the second "Spotlight Review" does a pretty good job of explaining it. :)
There is a site for the movie itself, but it's an annoyingly cryptic Flash site. I don't know what gets into movie studios when it comes to web sites. *sigh*
